Tek4Kids, Inc. (Gary and Cathy Boice’s nonprofit) uses education and technology to break the poverty cycle in Haiti.  They provide existing schools in Haiti with clean water, electricity, computers and teachers.  Children share clean water with their families, reducing instances of cholera and waterborne illnesses. Students that receive computer skills from the Tek4Kids program will be able to find much more advanced jobs despite the high unemployment rate in the area. To learn more about Tek4Kids, visit www.tek4kids.org

The Cathedral of the Assumption is a vibrant parish in the heart of downtown Louisville. Completed in 1852, it is the fourth oldest public building in the city as well as the third oldest Catholic Cathedral in continuous use in the United States.

The Cathedral depends on the generosity of parishioners and friends to meet the extraordinary demands required to maintain a 160 year old facility.  Your gift will help us sustain our magnificent Cathedral, support our social service programs and help us fulfill our most cherished goal - to serve as a house of worship and prayer.  Many opportunities exist to help us continue our mission of reverent and participative worship, lifelong spiritual formation, embracing the unique role of a Cathedral in the civic community and responding to God’s unconditional love by reaching out in hospitality and service to all.

Stewardship is giving as a faith response to all that you have been given.  Members of the parish can donate in several different ways:  weekly envelopes, Electronic Fund Transfers, and stock donations.  The  Bishop Flaget Society is for all who include the Cathedral of the Assumption in their estate planning.

You can designate your donation to any the following programs:

  • Maintenance of the historic Cathedral buildings
  • Daily Lunch Program for the poor
  • General operating budget
  • Worship and Music fund
  • Sister Parish fund for Cathedral St. Louis, Jeremie, Haiti
  • Technology fund
  • Archdiocese of Louisville History Museum
